NASA has a press conference scheduled for later today in which the lead scientist on the Mars rovers project will reveal its "most important discovery to date". There is much speculation that NASA has found even more solid evidence of water on Mars (other orbiters having previously discovered and confirmed water). For more see the linked BBC article. Yeah, I'm watching this one closely. I'm especially hopeful of an announcement of existing brine, which would just be incredible. Evidence of ancient water is cool, Frozen water is neat (hell, we are almost certain that exists at the poles), but LIQUID water is the key.

i was hoping for liquid water also, seems what we have is more evidence of water, but not liquid water.
the evidence is that the area opportunity is in was once "soaked" and or covered in water.
