Some changes to the Selective Service may be in order. The chief of the Selective Service System put a proposal before the powers that be at the Pentagon just before the invasion/liberation of Iraq.

Its not by any means a done deal, just preliminary, but its very interesting. I just turned 35 so I am out, but it admits everyone male AND FEMALE up to age 34. It also has special provisions for those with key skills that include "computer specialists".
