Interesting article at BEA: Get Ready for SOA. It has a few BEA slanted takes on things as it was presented originally on "June 30, 2004 at the 2004 JavaOne Conference" by "Dr. Scott Dietzen, chief technology officer, BEA Systems" but it is still a good read.

Personally I am fairly new to the SOA game but I really like the concepts and the results such as real division of roles and real interoperability. Checkit via the above link.
