Franken beats O'Reilly in the NY head to head ratings

Al Franken's "O'Franken Factor" beat the Bill O'Reilly "Radio Factor" in the most recent Arbitron ratings survey for NYC. Beat it head to head in the only hour the two shows compete in the "listeners aged 25 to 54 -- the group advertisers prize most" category. The entire Air America thing got off to a very shaky start, but appears to be making at least some headway.

Its important to note, as the linked Reuters article does, that even though Franken beat O'Lielly, "Big Fat Idiot" Rush Limbaugh beat them both.

Actually, if you count all listener ages too, Franken bean Limbaugh too. :P

I thought it said that Franken lost with all listener ages? Guess I would need to look at the actual data, but I surely thought the Reuters article said that for all ages Limbaugh AND OLielly beat Franken.

Wow, imagine that, a liberal beating out a conservative in *gasp* NYC. It would be only more shocking if that happened in Boston or San Francisco! And of course I won't say anything about how Air America has to pay for their air time whereas others are supported by advertising...

ummm... Air America is a centralize network that leases radio stations and manages their own advertising. It's simply a different model than syndicated programming.

Well the article really wasnt on the offensive, but now that you point it out NYC is the biggest city in the country, so yes I think it is *gasp* significant (regardless of the cities implied political leanings, we are talking about *gasp* talk radio remember, not noted for its left wing liberal media slant?).

franken didnt fare so well in the recent ratings. the factor cleaned his clock. no one wants to hear these doom and gloom leftists for very long.
