Really good overview FAQ type article on developerWorks for getting started with Linux and Power architecture. I havent personally taken the plunge yet, but plan to do so soon (with an old iMac) and this FAQ appears quite helpful. It outlines distros to use, applications that run, porting things, standards, embedded computing (which is a huge reason to learn Linux/PPC) and more.
