Netcraft Browser Security Toolbar

Netcraft has created a new Toolbar for browsers that is intended to greatly enhance security.

It displays the hosting provider and related details (country of origin, netblock owner, etc) of every site you visit, it has links to the Netcraft reports for the site and netblock, it alerts of any previously known "phishing" or other issues involved with the site, it traps and records URLs with suspicious characters thought to be involved with phishing ("suspicious" being subjective in this case and they are actually still working out what is and is not caught) and more.

While it is a really clever and useful idea at present it is also very laden with hooks to Netcraft services. Sure they made it and as such they can handle it however they wish but I think it might be more popular and successful if it were not as directly aimed at getting users to click and buy something from Netcraft. Even if all the links and drop downs were somehow less overt? Maybe ONE link to a Netcraft page where all the services were then detailed (right now the Toolbar has tons of links to various Netcraft pay to play stuff, just feels like the wrong tone for an "anti phishing" purported community tool that is supposed to help less knowledgeable users?).

In addition it currently has ONE HUGE PROBLEM, it only runs on IE. The Firefox version is under development and should be ready very soon.
