In an incredibly brilliant, but not unexpected for the locale, move, several Mississippi county libraries have banned the Daily Show book "Democracy Inaction".
Is it too provacative in calling out political bullshit, does it poke fun at one too many an earned Missisippi (south in general) stereotype, does it even go so far as to blaspheme the great W.? Well yeah it does those things ;), but thats not why its being banned (not officially anyway). It is unfit for a LIBRARY because it has a fake nude picture of the Supreme Court.
Thats the kind of service the government of the great state of Mississippi provides for its citizens (via their tax dollars). (Well that and of course an educational standard near the bottom of the barrel where you caint read once yous done finished, much like that of Georgia, so the library aint all that important in the ole south anyway. Just go to a good ole dogfight, or that date with your grandsister, as for the library, skip it.)

RE: Mississippi libraries move to protect citizens, ban Daily S
Yeah - I bet your Georgia Legislature is kicking themselves that they did not think of this first.
RE: Mississippi libraries move to protect citizens, ban Daily S
In addition to protecting their citizens in such an intelligent way it also appears that these Mississippi counties have no balls, as they have already reversed their decisions.

Did the reverse because the horrible nude picture was removed? Did they reverse because the content of the book changed? Nope, niether, they reversed because of the "intense public scrutiny". (That and all the jokes.)
(And dont get me wrong its GOOD to change sometimes based on input and new information and so on, learn is not bad, but these clowns havent gotten any new information they shouldnt have already had when they put the ban in effect, they are just not all that bright AND not able to stand up for what they believe.)
