I should have known

All hail Google.

So I was doing some math homework earlier today and did not have my calculator handy. I normally would pop up "calc" on whatever OS but already had a Google window open and decided what the hell.

And sure enough it works like a charm, I just needed a simple percentage (something like 2^56 * .07) but Google can handle quite a bit more than that.

Take e^(i pi)+1.

Amazing. And it does basic operations, exponents, logarithms, square roots, sine, cosine, tangent, etc. All sorts of stuff.

Turns out in addition to normal math stuff it also converts all sorts of units.

It also tempts you to try more "Feel free to experiment with the calculator as not all of its capabilities are listed here."

I could not get it to do algabraic expressions or equations but I would not be surprised if the right syntax made that fly too.

RE: I should have known

I have been using Google for unit conversions for a while now...

I love Google.

RE: I should have known

I usually use onlineconversion.com, but doubt I will any more (another thing I was not aware Google did, and should have known better).

RE: I should have known

You know, when I need to convert units, I would always google for "Javascript Measurement Conversion" and use whatever just came up :P

RE: I should have known

That URL is in the article under the "stuff" link.

RE: I should have known

Aah, somehow I missed the fact that "stuff" was a link :P

RE: I should have known

Links are underlined and the cursor changes to a little hand when you move over them :P
