Sun plans to make all its software free
Sun plans to do this to build "communities" around its products and start "commoditizing technology" because "commodity drives perpetual demand". Sun appears to want to have a larger role in software and then leverage the services and hardware markets around that.

Boy that sure sounds like it fits in the too good to be true world
RE: All Sun software to be free
I have been saying that exact thing for a while now. The whole "open sourcey Sun" thing is still an "I'll believe it when I see it, and if the license isn't just retarded"....
Of course I said the same thing about Macintel too.
RE: All Sun software to be free
wait n c. Nothing is free in this world.
