Google "personalized" home

Damn you Google! Arghh. I have been trying and trying to use the new My Yahoo! thing and just cant do it (even though it is much better, its still not really great). Googles search results are still better for me and Gmail just is the best thing around (I tried to use Yahoo! mail, but man its just not Gmail).

So now Google has a new thing called "personalized home" where I can put weather and RSS feeds and quotes and Gmail and such all in one really simple non ads cluttered beautiful page. Really nice interface to add/edit content, works really quickly, very very nice.

So much for My Yahoo! - and for trying to broaden my horizons and use other internet resources apart from everything owned by Google.

RE: Google "personalized" home

Only has limited RSS stuff from what it has canned or what you can search to "find". Doesnt let you just add a damn feed with your own URL (seems crazy but I guess they are only caching certain stuff, etc). It finds screaming-penguin.com but its a link to the RDF feed - with an OLD url - still works but its not the slick new RSS stuff.

Now only if it let you specify a feed then you could give it an aggregator feed. Hmmmm.

Ok - I'm going to give this a shot. Am I the only one that never knew that Firefox allows you to have multiple home pages and just opens each one up in a separate tab?
What a nice little feature.

RE: Google "personalized" home

Ok... Scratch that cool multiple home page thing. It turns out I use that home button quite a bit and don't need to open 2 tabs all the time.

RE: Google "personalized" home

The only thing about GMail and the home page that I'm not really digging is the inability to support multiple Gmail accounts. I know, I know, you aren't really supposed to have multiple accounts. But dang it, I like to keep my regular e-mail on one account and my porn-subscription and cybersex e-mail on another account. Surely I'm not the only one?

RE: Google "personalized" home

Wait a minute, who uses email addresses for porn anymore. You dont subscribe to porn stuff man, you just google for it - bittorrent it - gnutella it - so on. You dont have to actually sign up for it.
