I am on Google's side on this one
Or in the Rocky and Bullwinkle alternate title style:
"Fuck Off KinderStart.com".
Some silly company is again suing Google over their ranking.
I have no idea how these people even find legal representation, much less get the papers filed and make it to court (well, on second thought yes I do, lawyers will take advantage of any sucker they can).
Google is a PRIVATE COMPANY, not a government entity or something. You have no RIGHT to search results. They can remove you from the index altogether and replace your results page with a gotse image if they want, its THEIR DAMN INDEX. Yes many people use Google and they can drive a lot of traffic to your site, they are important in that regard, but its not your RIGHT to have them do that. The KinderClown people seek to "prove Google has become an 'essential facility' that should be required to warn Web sites before dropping them from the index. 'We don't really feel there is enough transparency and openness in a service that has become so important'". Its important because people like it and use it on a voluntary basis.
Google went out and made its product viable, such that people want to use it. Other companies should try the same AND THE SEARCH RESULTS WILL REFLECT THAT, rather than whining like 3 year old little girls that they are not high enough in the rankings. Every visitor who came to any site via Google is a gift from Google, not some inherent requirement of the internet (even if you were stupid enough to pay some dumbass "SEO" firm that says they can get you search rankings).
And while the rant mode is obviously on, stop trying to fuck with Google and then getting caught screwing around and dropped from the index. (There are a ton of supposed "tricks" that make me laugh, different content for the user agent when its GoogleBot, etc, you guys really think Google is that dumb? - not to mention all the keyword bullshit.) Just make a good product/service and a standards compliant site WITHOUT ALL THE DUMB-ASS TRICKS to try to get higher search rankings and again, the search rankings will come. (The 45% are clearly the reason "SEO" is even a viable industry.)
TotSP ranks pretty high at Google on various topics, and has a decent PageRank. All with zero effort at keywords and link sharing and ALL THAT NONSENSE. Its as site that is HTML compliant, allows robots based on standards (such as robots.txt) and from there doesnt fuck around, if the content is relevant to the world that wants to use it, it will be relevant to Google, if not, not.
