This TSS article "my experience with JSF" is pretty lame, but some of the commentary is worth a read.
Particularly many people claim the author of the article has no idea about JSF (action versus component, etc) if he is trying to port a struts app to JSF. Some of the commenters note that maybe part of the problem with JSF is that the author has no idea how to use it or what it is - why should it be that difficult to understand and implement?
I am not a JSFy developer, I still *prefer* the action based stuff (because in my experience thats how the protocol we are using for web apps still works underneath and all attempts to change that end up convoluting things in some manner). I admit that I do not know much about JSF (I get the concepts but have made no effort to use it) but at the same time feel like I am not missing the boat because various action based frameworks are still progressing and work very well where I need them.
