A lot of people are expressing their concerns over the United States not evacuating its citizens from Lebanon quickly enough, in the wake of the Israeli bombings.
Blog articles, polls and news organizations have been somewhat critical in general. Even some American citizens in Lebanon are complaining quite loudly that they are not getting enough help.
To that I say pshaaaaaw. I think the United States is doing enough and obviously trying on the evacuation front (different story on the actual foreign policy front and ways we could have avoided this conflict in the first place, which is going to set the middle east back 20 years, but that is another matter).
I also think that if you take a "vacation" to Beirut you bear some of the risk and responsibility YOUR-DAMN-SELF. Ok, not some, MOST. You are scared of course, natural, but bitching that the US embassy is not acting fast enough is out of line. Maybe before you take your four kids on said "vacation" you should consider the risks (especially for someone who is more than familiar with the area - sure there was no bombing when you got there but lets face it, its BEIRUT, not San Diego).
In fact by going there you have risked not only your own lives but also the lives of the people you are now complaining have not rescued you fast enough.
