Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

I am a huge Richard Dawkins fan. One day a few months back I was perusing YouTube and searched for Dawkins. Up came a bunch of interesting stuff including a documentary clip where Dawkins was interviewing some completely self righteous hypcoritic religious nut stealing people's money, who had no clue at all about evolution.

Turns out that same guy, Ted Haggard, recently resigned from that very church because he is under suspicion of having had a gay tryst for the last three years.

The allegations could turn out to be false, could be a "swift vet" type bullshit campaign just before the elections, but Haggard is not a politician and with several high profile repubs , the most self righteous ones it seems, being outed as gay lately it would not be beyond the scope of possibility.

Now of course if it is true what is sad is not the fact that he is gay, but rather that he has been duplicitious towards his family and that he was one of the nations top anti-gay marriage jackasses.

Barney Frank correctly slammed some Wall Street Journal guy (forget his name) on Maher the other day when at the time he brought up this same topic that guy incredulously said "what! is that a crime"? Uh, well yeah jackass if the Republicans had their way it WOULD BE. As Frank stated the Texas anti gay sex laws that were just struck down by the SCOTUS recently were supported by the President, many other Republicans and by several clueless members of the Supreme Court themselves.

It's the self righteousness that is at issue, not the "gay" itself. I am beginning to believe these people really are so shallow that they need religion to tell them how to act, because they have no morals themselves. Truly moral people of course recognize trust, respect, reciprocal altruism and RIGHT AND WRONG without fear or retribution (and they also recognize that sex is natural, even homosexual sex, despite all the "nature" anti-arguments it is well documented in many many species in nature and consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want to each other in a free society, that is morality, preventing others consenting non violent private behavior because of your own insecurity is NOT moral). Maybe these repressed guys just cant resist the penis and that is why they became religio-freaks in the first place?
