Now, dont get me wrong, I am not an unabashed Google ass kisser (there are a few things about the company I loathe, mostly AdWords policies related, and that damn move of the "Groups" link - oh, and including shit like the lame ass RealPlayer in the "Pack") - but man, this is an impressive list of apps.

I have to say, I *love* Pack, and say what you want about it, RealPlayer works, and pretty well. Frankly, I think it is kind of a shame that everyone uses FLV instead of Real, but Real screwed up their marketing effort on that one.
That said, Pack is pretty awesome. I just wish it had more in it: Java, open source stuff (GAIM, OO.o, etc). Even better, make it a Repo-based updater so people could publish their software to Pack-based repositories and just make it the "updater for everything that isn't Windows Update."

I cannot flipping stand the "real" player and refuse to install it on any machine. More so than the facility of the player itself though, my gripe is with the 1800 pieces of spyware and spam and other bullshit you get when you install it (at least when you grab it from the real site that is how it used to be, I havent bothered in a few years). Also, you had to hunt for the "free" version, they made it very deceptive to where you got the free FOR 30 DAYS "pro" crap, for a time it was quite underhanded.
And, who the fuck needs a special video format anyway. I know real player can do multi-format, but dont they still have some proprietary stupid ass format as well? Who needs it. I want a standardized video format that I can play in a variety of players, not something that locks me in and REQUIRES rp.
