It is at least starting to look like a blog type app but I admit that I have not spent as much time on it yet as I wanted to - and have a long way to go.
I plan to clean up lots of stuff, its early alpha, and add much more - but just wanted to show that progress has been made (albeit slowly - due to other commitments).
jPenguin, for the uninitiated, is the new rev of Screaming Penguin. It is Java based (using stuff like Stripes and Hibernate) and will have some cool new features. It will make some use of AJAX (not in there yet, but plan to use it for simple stuff, like inline storyadmin, etc), and uses "tags" for article associations (which leads to all sorts of feature enhancments down the road). In addition all the RSS feeds will be handled via a subproject we intend to put up as "BitHarvest.com". BitHarvest will be "aggregator" (the Cooper stuff) and will allow you to use it standalone OR pull your feeds/sources into the new jPenguin (or hopefully into any blog you want).
I am not sure when this will all be complete, but a new pengiun is at least finally in progress ;).
