Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

The Batik project from the Apache XML group was released in beta today. This is a Java based API for working with SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics -- like PostScript and Illustrator) files.
SVG is a newish spec from the W3C for vector graphics and the Batik API include functions for rasterizations to your favorite formats (JPG, PNG) as well as many other great new tools. Looks EXTREMELY cool. Big ups to the Apache group for continuing to kick ass outside of the webserver arena!   Batik @ Apache
