Ok, I know the title sounds like a paid endorsement, but I just saw this at a friends house last night, and I have to say, it is pretty pimp.
Qcast Turner is a Playstation disc that lets you boot your PS2, equipped with a NIC of course, and play MP3s, Oggs, DivX/MPEG4, Xvid, and most of the other non-Real/Windows Media/AAC file formats over a fileshare.
Granted, I have been doing this with my Dreamcast for a while now, just booting it with a Linux boot ROM to an NFS mounted filesystem, but for the less techno-weenie-hobbist set, this is a pretty cool product. I would imagine if you have the PS2 Linux setup, too, the FreeVo set up would be pretty good too.
Just makes you wonder, though. At what point do the consoles stop being consoles and just become the "living room computer".
