Al Gore's speech today may the singular best political speech I have personally been alive to see. I mean:

Our world is unconquerable because the human spirit is unconquerable, and any national strategy based on pursuing the goal of domination is doomed to fail because it generates its own opposition, and in the process, creates enemies for the would-be dominator.

Though I think he should have closed with that, he kinda fizzled at the end.

It's funny how things change. 14 months ago everyone was like - if Gore was President we would never be invading Iraq thank God for that. Now it's oh ****, I wish Gore was President then we would never have invaded Iraq and we would not be watching our 100's of Billions of tax dollars heading across the ocean to get nothing but body bags back in return.

Now dont get me wrong, I dont want to go all total hyperbole on some **** here, I dont blame Bush (or anyone who might have been Pres) for what happened, it was the fault of terrorists and not any administration. But, the evidence for Bushes "Operation Ignore" as Franken called AND DETAILED it and then the later revelations BY BUSHES OWN _GODDAMN_ HEAD OF COUNTERTERRORISM Clarke are pretty powerful. You can argue all sorts of other ****, but there are many FACTS that cant just be selectively ignored by any truly rational and coherent person. Bush dropped the ball and did not implement the anti terrorism plans already in place and basically handed to his administration and then rather than choose another plan, he directed his administration to basically ignore terrorism. Now hes the big _fuckin_ super secure getting the job done Presideny?, total _bullshit_.
