The San Francisco Chronicle reviews The Political Machine, "a new election-themed game" for "wonkish adults who can't get enough of the political process."
"And while the visuals are limited, the end of the Political Machine -- election day 2004 -- is more satisfying than the conclusions of 99 percent of video games. You get to watch as the electoral vote slowly comes in, biting your nails to see if history will view your candidate as a Clinton or a Dukakis."
Wired has another favorable review, noting "the game itself, at least at intermediate levels, is quick-moving and addictive. I was able to hustle through the 41-week election cycle in about three hours."
CNN calls it "C-SPAN meets The Sims" and notes "one might presume a game like this would be a computerized civics lesson that's about as stimulating as a congressional budget hearing. Fortunately, The Political Machine maintains an entertaining and slightly satirical tone. And the graphics and artwork are rendered in a bright, colorful style straight out of the Sunday comics."
"Political junkies will almost certainly find The Political Machine as addictive as football fans find Madden 2005."
