Going along with the new RSS style, how about this!
You can use FeedPod to generate a PodCast compatible RSS feed from any other Atom/RSS1/RSS2 feed. It will use a text to speech system to read the "content" when available, "description" when not, and create a new RSS with an "enclosure" of the MP3 reading.
This works best for ATOM and RSS feeds with full content, obviously. You can also use any of the PodCasting software to sync the feeds. See the FeedPod page for links to some clients.

Holy digital audio Batman, thats cool as hell.
Very nice work sir, very useful (more than I can say for most of what I do ;)).
And a hearty welcome back to the penguin.

You can now listen to "hers your hiney mr bronco fan" and other classic hits of the very same day - http://feedpod.screaming-penguin.com/feedpod/feeds/screaming%20penguin/0....
Guess I need to include all content from stories if we want this to work well? I could create a separate penguin feed that is FULL content?
RE: TotSP FeedPod
That would be cool.
It's got a couple of issues. I just noticed that there is no support for the purl.org Content module in ROME, so if you have a feed that has and as it seems most WordPress blogs do, you only get the . I am going to look into adding support for the content module to ROME tonight and see about getting that fixed.
RE: TotSP FeedPod
I also added a stylesheet to the output with links to the audio file. Much nicer if you just want to play with listening to stuff without using a podcasting client.
RE: TotSP FeedPod
Also added an option to get a Shoutcast playlist rather than RSS so you can listen to a whole feed off the server.
RE: TotSP FeedPod
Can some post a list of sites that are using this?
Thx,
James
