Among the features touted by Gates are are support for persistent memory storage and support for advanced cellular network capabilities such as push-to-talk and videoconferencing. The update will also include built-in support for 3G networks, Wi-Fi and improved Bluetooth support. Microsoft claims additional security enhancements will make the operating system FIPS-140-2 compliant, which means it meets U.S. government security requirements. In direct competition to RIM's Blackberry solution, Microsoft intends to include "push" e-mail capabilities to the OS. Office applications such as PowerPoint Mobile will also see additional enhancements, and the software will ship with Windows Media Player 10.
