With the new podcasting support. Thanks to distler.
And to answer his question, yes, it is copyright issues that KCRW only does spoken word podcasts. The RIAA and ASCAP charge 200* the rate for streaming radio for podcasts. Bastards. Actually, according to Adam Curry on his deal, the podcast license in Europe, where it is regulated, for music is really quite affordable -- like $250 a year or something.

RE: iTunes 4.9 Available
Yeah I grabbed 4.9 earlier today, the podcasting stuff is great. The directory is not enormous, but its more than I actually thought they would have and though its all fancied up in the iTunes store they are of course all free. It worked great in my use and I already have about 8 npr programs lined up (now if I could just get prarie home companion, wait wait dont tell me and my word, I would set ;)).
RE: iTunes 4.9 Available
Oh, and they have a little "upload" podcast thing in iTunes now too, interesting.
RE: iTunes 4.9 Available
If Odeo ever opens up "invite your friends" I will pass some around. I still haven't upgraded iTunes on any machine I have that runs it (which is to say, the WinXP machine at work).
RE: iTunes 4.9 Available
Got it last night and is nice to see. The potential for some of these shows that you have to pay for is podcasting with advertising. I would prefer not, but would not mind advertising during some of the shows that cost as an alternative to not having them at all.
