Man, I love it when I actually get to use that "misc" subject heading:
Does it bother you that churches have a Mission Statement touting their Core Values? That even the CIA has a Vision? In his book Death Sentences: How Clichés, Weasel Words and Management-Speak are Strangling Public Language and in this Newsweek interview, Australian author Don Watson argues it's time to protest the mind-numbing business jargon that infests our schools, churches and political speech. Examples that people have sent to him can be found on Watson's website.

The Newsweek piece is great. I know I started getting sick of "solutions" several years ago.
I think in a more Carlin-esque way, there is also just word replacement, rather than loss of precision. I want to know when "utility", the perfectly good word we all learned in highschool and college Econ classes got replaced with *cough* "value proposition".

RE: Management Speak Considered Harmful
I have read one of Don Watson's earlier books and found it thoroughly entertaining. While that one was quite Australian-centric (fine for me!) I gather this book is not.
Well worth the read if you can get it.
