Holy Crap, That's Lucy Lawless

"Xena can't fly."

"I told you, I'm Lucy Lawless."

So I totally missed that was Lawless on Battlestar Galactica this ween until I listened to Ron Moore's podcast. Funny, he says they were going for a "Chirstiana Amanpour" (sp?) character, and I couldn't get past the Aussie accent Cylon that doesn't out the leaders dark secret and makes the whole "yay! Patriotism!" video as being a Rupert Murdoch dig.

I have to say, Ron, I never put it together that the whole ship sabotage and mirror instance was "the guy" mechanic. I saw them all as fairly unrelated deals from different people playing with Ty.

Though the whone Felix Gaita thing is great.

And talking about introducing "a dark element into the show". Ty leaning against the gun already went there. The whole question of how deep his self hatred is, already went there, I don't think the Lt's suicide would have changed that much.

And sorry, the whole text of the end dialogue is lost in the face of the anthemising recycling of the old BSG theme. It has a big feel of the Robotech SDF "blue angels" moments.
