Ever since Gmail shipped, there has been much speculation about a Google iCal implementation. Google Rumors notes that just went into the DNS zone:

A GoogleRumors reader tipped us off to the fact that calendar.google.com now mirrors www.google.com. This is different from a few days ago when we checked and is different from other names, such as example.google.com that return cannot be found messages.

Similar behavior was seen before the launch of Google Talk and Google Blog Search.
