Novell has done a crapload of usability focusgrouping on a bunch of Linux software and has made their entire dataset downloadable off the betterdesktop.org site. Test include basic things like common sysadmin (Make a user account for your buddy), network stuff (email a text doc) and app stuff (create a new contact) in FF, OO.o, and SuSE Linux.
Good stuff, and MAD props to Novell for this.

RE: Open Source Focus Groups
Yes nice Novell.
And BTW, the etymology of props still unknown, the definition - "To give props to somebody means to give 'proper respect' to him/her . . ." per Wikipedia. Yes we all understand that but the question "where did props come from" has been asked and I still dont know.
RE: Open Source Focus Groups
Yeah, that falls into one of those things I always wished the Wayback Machine supported. Would be nice if you could "Google/Lucene" the wayback archives for stuff and sort/narrow by date ranges. Then it would be easy to just say "Some me the first use of 'give props to' on the web".
