I saw this story late Saturday I think and when I read it I was sort of alarmed to hear the property owner quoted as saying (paraphrase) "this happens from time to time, he got pretty peppered but at least he did not put an eye out". It "happens from time to time" - then you need to take the guns away from the old blind and non situationally aware retards.

But how nice that the veep has his own medical crew AND AMBULANCE (that you and I pay for certainly) which follows him around everywhere, even out in the woods hunting, and they were able to assist.

I go quail and pheasant hunting all the time, have been doing so since I was a kid. There were a few mistakes made. First, the guy who got shot didn't announce that he had rejoined the 'line'. For the non-hunters, when you go quail hunting it is usually through farm fields and you set up a picket line with about 30 feet between each person. If he rejoined the line without telling anybody, his bad. BUT, one of the big rules of hunting is ALWAYS know what you are shooting at and what is in front of the intended target and what is behind. Cheney was too quick on the trigger and wasn't - as atrox stated - situationally aware.

I don't know, I honestly have to admit, I am surprised the Secret Service even allows Cheney to be around people with guns at all. That seemed really weird to me.
