This is a great site with the current presidential election predictions by state. Also has statistics for the last election when you mouse over each state. Has some good information about how the Electoral College works, links to information about both Kerry and Bush records and a bit more.
Check it HERE (electoral-vote.com).

RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
very cool site, not sure how accurate it is, but regardless it has great information about the process.
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
And here's a very cool quiz to determine which candidates best match your views:
http://www.selectsmart.com/PRESIDENT
My results:
1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
2. Badnarik, Michael - Libertarian (83%)
3. Cobb, David - Green Party (42%)
4. Nader, Ralph - Independent (42%)
5. Bush, President George W. - Republican (41%)
6. Peroutka, Michael - Constitution Party (39%)
7. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (36%)
8. Brown, Walt - Socialist Party (30%)
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
I took the little quiz, on which the page has some amazingly annoying animated ads, and then hit submit.
On the next page all I got was I may have won . . . . but no results.
Then I re-took the quiz with IE (crappy ass sites that cant write to a standard, argh!) and it just hangs.
Anyway, dont try it with Mozilla.
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
Well, maybe it was just busy and showed me a blank results page, I clicked back and refreshed in moz, while my IE is still hanging there, and it worked?

And for the record, I did vote the way I feel about the small number of questions the site asks, but there are many other issues that put the Green, Independent, Socialist, and current Libertarian candidates way off in my book so I disagree with the way the results are calculated. In fact there is only one environment related question, and yes I am pro-environment, but that one question should not rank the env candidates above others (several of the more "libertarian" type issues I also ranked high importance, less taxes AND less spending, legalize drugs, etc).
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
Yeah, it's not perfect, but you had a statistical tie between Cobb, Nader, and Badnarik. The thing I like most about the survey is that it shows how little is shared with the two major parties.
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
Agreed on the major parties point. I was just dismayed that Cobb, Nader and Brown even showed up in my results ;)
I mean I know I am am commie liberal pansy ass atheist pussy to some around these parts, but Nader?, that was a low, albeit statistical, blow.
RE: Electoral Vote Predictor 2004
Mine kind of surprised me (although may not surprise any of you guys):
1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
2. Badnarik, Michael - Libertarian (77%)
3. Bush, President George W. - Republican (56%)
4. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (43%)
5. Cobb, David - Green Party (30%)
6. Nader, Ralph - Independent (30%)7. Peroutka, Michael - Constitution Party (27%)
8. Brown, Walt - Socialist Party (23%)
I was surprised to see Senator Kerry so far up on my list. And atrox, I knew you were a closet Commie. Walt Brown at 55%??? I do agree with you though that I don't think the questions lend themselves well to a true telling.
