"A script-based threat that spies on Mac users caught the attention of some security watchers last week."
I am an OSX user and really am not liking this. Not really sure what to even do about it. In some ways it shows more people are using OSX, so there is more reason for people to work on hacks and viruses against them. Not really good reasons that I see.
I use Windows XP at my day job and OSX for side work and at home and still have minimal issue with OSX compared to the issues I run into with Windows.

RE: Mac users face rare threat
OS X is a FAR cry from Windows when it comes to virus/spyware headaches, but thats not to say problems don't exist.
I've been using OS X exclusively for the last 2 years, and I've never had any virus issues, but I still run Norton AntiVirus just to be sure.
One of the nice things Norton does on the Mac is automatically scan volumes (disk images, optical media, etc) as they are mounted. Since Opener takes advantage of Safari auto-mounting disk images, hopefully Norton would catch this.
So anyway, I don't think anyone should be ignorant and assume they'll never run afoul of malicious code on their Mac, but its nothing like the jungle of virii plaguing Windows.
