Well the pope is an asshole then, and an ignorant one at that.

Homosexuality doesnt threaten anything, much less something nebulous and nonsensical like "society" (oh really, whats "society" and in what way is it affected, oh nevermind).

Abortion is trickier (being against homosexuality is stupid and its trivial to refute, its purely bigotry and nonsense, homosexuality is NATURAL - if we define natural as occurs in nature, its present in many many species).

I like Carl Sagans take on abortion, its killing a HUMAN thats at issue right (not just all life being precious as many claim, think back to your last meal, all life aint so precious to us humans), so what makes a human? Human life is considered legally OVER when there are no brain waves, so thus it follows that it starts once there are brain waves. I like that, its a clear definition. Now in some of Sagans writing he stated that brain waves occur only in the start of the third trimester, other literature on the net (all anti-abortion I might add) states brain waves are present much earlier, such as 60 days after conception.

Personally I would not tell a person what to do with their own body, EITHER WAY, but if we have to draw a line we should use some reasonable and SCIENTIFIC standard. Thus if we had to define a law (which I dont think we should per se) it should be X days after conception date as determined by a doctor (and the days should be a real and reasonable timeframe for the presence of brain waves).

Now all that said, and it being a tricky issue, I would point out that more abortions probably eliminates a lot of gays before they get started and thus saves society from the "insidious threat"? So it makes no sense that the church is against both of them ;). (And yeah thats a callous take but its a joke and its meant to point out how ridiculous the "homo" evil is. And consider that we are talking about the Church, responsible for more mass murder than ANY genocide or medical treatment and on combined over the years, and much of it in such humane ways as being burnt alive (and note they had a reason for doing that, it didnt spill the blood, spilling blood is against some bible verse somehwere so you had to burn your victims alive to be a true Christian).)

Does anyone think the Pope actually wrote that book?

I think the pope probably has to be propped up so someone can dress his every day.

Maybe they will get someone more progressive next time. He lives in the dark ages. Isn't it amazing so many people follow him like little stupid sheep. Good riddens to him I say. I am not gay but live and let live
