New iPods, new iMacs and new software.

Appears Apple has finally come out with a Video iPod,..set up to play videos, home movies and television downloads. Son enough movies. Screen is small for long viewing, but has video out for playing on a larger one. They are also smaller in size, with the smaller storage size bumped up to 30GB for the same price.

The iMac looks pretty nice,...check it out here. Build in camera,...pretty neat software included. Also the updated mouse is now standard.

More. . .

"In addition to music videos, users will be able to purchase TV shows one day after their initial broadcast. Offerings will include ABC television's "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" and the Disney Channel's "That's So Raven." It will take 10 to 20 minutes to download an episode, said Jobs. Each will cost $1.99 and will be ad-free."

We have all the shows like Systm, Digital Life, Digg, other Rev3 stuff, and we can buy shows for 2 bucks on iTunes (sort of spendy there, but yes approaching reasonable, maybe 1 buck instead of two - and yes nice no commercials) - alot more vid content is sure to come.

BitTorrent of course has a plethora of ILLEGAL (as well as legal, thats where I get Systm for example) content, but that cant count.

"This will, however," he added, "be a real boom for video podcasting and provides another distribution channel for independent content."

Right on.

Sort of surprising that they usurped the Nano, it was selling like mad, but I guess they have nothing to really lose and rather than cannibalize the Nano they are just adding more options but will still get all buyers (one way or another).

And the new iMac is nice I pose, but I doubt they get serious traction there no matter how cool it is until the new Intel based machines arrive.
