Now I don't know how many of you are huge Quake fans, but when I saw that beautiful silver box on the shelves of CompUSA, I bought it, ran home, and.........ohh yea. If you have been following the several demo releases you will probably not be suprised with the retail release, as the graphics engine and net code are essentially the same as demo version 1.09, but there are numerous new/incredible levels, a good amount of original player skins, as well as bot MODs, CTF, and other minor retail enhancements that are probably worth the $50.Sharkyextreme.com, a website I trust for all my gaming hardware/software news, has written an in-depth and extremely good article about Q3A. I recommend it to those novice to the quake religion (I say that not-so-loosely), or those pondering dropping the cash on Quake 3.As the article does a good job in pointing out, Quake 3 adds nothing innovative to the field of deathmatch gaming, but only provides a newer/prettier installment of the gut-wrenching deathmatch action we come to expect from id. Fine by me.So I recommend the article to anyone considering buying the game (if your one of those who doesnt see the purchasing of it as simple destiny). Ofcourse the best thing you can do is to download the latest demo version and try it out for yourself. Sharkyextreme.com story
