Being a huge fan of the original Austin Powers, I couldn't resist the temptation to catch the very first showing of the new movie. In a nutshell, Dr. Evil invents a time-travel machine in which he travels back to 1969, a time when Austin is frozen, and steals his mojo. There was some original humor in it, but the majority was rehashed from the first film. One of the funniest characters in the movie was Dr. Evil's henchman, Fat Bastard (Myers). He was a huge, disgusting, Scottish criminal who actually stole Austin's mojo by drawing it out with a needle. Many of the original henchmen are back (Frau Farbissina, the guy who is "in quite alot of pain"). Actually, stay to the VERY end of the credits, because there is a funny scene with the latter henchmen.Overall, the movie is funny, but the humor is nothing new if you have seen the first one. If I were to pick my favorite Austin Powers, it would still be "International Man of Mystery." BTW, I read that Mike Myers signed a contract to do 4 more Austin Powers movies, so we will se how they go. Hopefully he can come up with some new jokes. Moderately funny, somewhat uncreative movie: 3.24 out of 5.2 Penguin Afros.
