Screaming Penguin

According to a recent survey, the websurfing habits of people tend to be focused around a small number of sites. While new websites are popping up constantly, people still only visit a few sites during their session. In fact, 35% of all web traffic is directed at the top 50 most popular sites (you know, yahoo, CNN, ToTSP); 19% at the top 10. These stats are not exact, and different research firms came up with slightly different numbers, but they all seem to agree that the diverse internet is rather monotone. Read the LA Times article, it is pretty interesting. Now on a side note, it seems like I am becoming a bit of a slashdot.org whore. Im sorry, but that seems to be where all the good content comes from. Until someone else can match that, Ill be continuing to post links to their content.
