Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

PHP 4.0.0, the production release, is available from their website. The new version is a significant upgrade from 3.x, mainly because of the substantial speed improvements. With Zend Optimizations, it is supposed to be 200-400% faster than ASP, and 500-700% faster than PHP3 (*ahem*, hint, hint Atrox).
Anyone installing a new webserver box should definately use PHP4, and anyone looking to open the floodgates on their current Apache/PHP config should do the same.   slashdot.org article
