So Red Hat releases a security update for one of their kernels, but can't tell U.S. citz what they fixed cause that can tell you how to exploit a security problem. Nice.
What a stinky load of dung. Check It via the Reg. the regus
The entire DMCA is dung. I think if I understand this they are doing this to point out the ridiculousness of the DMCA but at the same time they pretty much have to do it. I am not sure why this applies to this patch now, and not to all others, unless they just started doing this, but again, it certianly is dung.
If it stops one person from being cracked into then good. Really I wouldn't want to waste my time reading about it anyways. Those wasted seconds can add up over the course of a lifetime. As long as it is fixed I could really care less what the problem was.
Cynical. Maybe. Pragmatic. Definitely. Idealistic. Definitely not! Life is far too short to while it away with idealistic crusades. The sheer effort wasted debating the evilness of the DCMA if channeled into something positive may have actually yielded something useful. Who knows?
And now I've wasted my time with my oh so worthless point of view. The cycle continues...
