The issue of government has always been whether individual men and women will have to serve some system of government of economics — or whether a system of government and economics exists to serve individual men and women
Turns out that 100% of the population voted and 100% of the population voted for good ole Hussein.
Makes our what 30% or whatever seem pretty lame, don't it. CNN
Let's just say you did get 100% of the people to vote for one person (that means nobody writing in Mickey Mouse or anything like that.) How the hell are you going to get all 11+ million to actually vote.
I really wonder what their point was. I can only assume that they know that we know that it is a farce. Propaganda? Dunno, if that's the best that the Director of News, Information and Propaganda can come up with, ole saddam better fire him and pick a new one. Of course, all the good ones are probably already dead. I hear he's pretty critical,ya know.

Re: Turns out Saddam is
Oh geeze, I really hope your comment was laced with sarcasm, because:
1. He was the only person on the ballot
2. In the past, people who did NOT vote for him were made to regret their choice. Remember - these folks must put their name and ID# on the ballots.
Supposedly, a spokesperson for Iraq said that their novel style of democracy was superior to others.
I really got a good chuckle out of that one.
