Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

Well, it has finally happened. There are now more women logging onto the internet than there are men. And since women outnumber men in the total population, this trend is probably here to stay. The largest increases were seen in teenage girls age 12-17 and in women over age 55.

The story states that women tend to be more utilitarian in their internet surfing, mainly sticking to sites that will save them time and money, a.k.a shopping. Sites that focus on community (chats, bulletin boards, etc) also are a favorite among women, especially teenagers.

Of course, all of these statistics still beg the question:
