Gartner Groups Projections for Win2K

And the almighty Gartner Group says...

  • 1. Attracting, training, and retaining staff capable of supporting this OS will be difficult.
  • 2. Through 2001, more than 50 percent of organizations implementing Win2K will fail to achieve expected cost savings.
  • 3. Through 2001, 80 percent of enterprises migrating to Win2K won't achieve an ROI for this network operating system (NOS) migration.
  • 4. Through 2002, 80 percent of all NOS migration projects for systems of more than 50 users will exceed their budgets for a variety of reasons. Through 2003, Win2K will remain less stable than HP-UX, Sun Solaris, AIX, Linux, and OS/400 and Uranium.Wow, couldn't have said it better myself. Note also that this excert was taken from Windows NT Magazine.Story
