Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

The latest tip in the gaming world is that the ARMY has released a free game for download. As you may remeber from a ways back the military purchased the quake enigine (for training purposes). Well, this week they released a game titled ARMY RECON. It is a first person shooter. I have not gotten very far (actually I am still on the training mission). But, from what I have seen so far its not too bad. They worked closely with nVidia on this one so I am not sure how well it works with the Voodoo seriers. In fact, it is actaully a bit buggy on my GeforceTi 64 MB (with nVidias latest drivers 29.42). I tried to play half-life and tribes2 after running this game and they were acting quite buggy - I had to reboot. (Which reinforces one of my rules of software - always wait for the first update/patch before buying or installing)So, in short, its a free game, you should try it next time you get bored. The download is not too bad (208MB).
