Screaming Penguin

Great post over at Good Math Bad Math today about PERT charts. PERT stands for "Project Evaluation and Review Technique. Basically it's a way to aid in planning and scheduling tasks. I also liked one of the comments: My experience with using these charts is that all the nice theory breaks down when you add in the inherent non-linearity introduced by the amount of time you spend maintaining the goddamn charts.
