Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

I'm talking about it, you are reading about it, you probably have heard about it elsewhere already - Radiohead gets it.

They are bypassing the record companies for their latest release (since record companies traditionally don't actually PAY bands much for record sales anyway, it's the tour that rakes in the cash), fans can download it directly, and fans can *elect* whether or not to pay, and *how much to pay*.

Sure you could argue that you have to be as successful as RH to pull this off, and that they are so successful because of past record label marketing, but still I sure hope it works and they make some bank by making it nice for the people (which can only help other bands in the long run, even smaller ones, and even when not going forth so boldly - as in even in negotiating with the labels).
