So Jaiku is now Google. Woohoo and all, but seriously? Why the hell would Google *want* Jaiku?
The G bought Dodgeball a while back, and that, frankly, was a whole lot more interesting service. Unfortunately, it is basically abandonware since the founders left because they couldn't get engineering resources. The whole location based thing was great, and everything that Jaiku (or Twitter) does, you could have built into dodgeball in a month.
I know Google isn't a big "coherent vision" kind of company, but seriously, this seems like a weird move. Moreover, it becomes yet another part of the mess that is "social Google".
