Article at Tale2Action debunking some recent "real Thomas Jefferson" talk from the religious right.
The real Thomas Jefferson is the ACLU's worst nightmare?
Good stuff, but "an historic" still drives me nuts. Pedantic mini rant - It's NOT "an historic," unless you pronounce it "istoric" (and for that matter "otel," and so on). It's about pronunciation, but virtually no one uses the pronunciation (silent first letter h) that moves things to "an" in US English. Yet everyone *thinks* it is correct to say "an" when it comes to historic. Saying it's either, especially based on search engine numbers as a basis for popularity (a horrible technique in and of itself), is a cop out.
