Congress & Steroids

Why in the hell is Congress having hearings, wasting it's time, on steroid use? They have MUCH more important duties, and it's not even within their charter!!! It IS SIMPLE. The Leagues, NFL, NBA, NHL, et al should have 0 tolerance policies JUST LIKE Corp America - They use, They Lose!

If the Leagues don't impose such policies, then the should be fined $Billions. If the players get caught, FIRE THEM, FINE THEM, Try Them, and BAN Them. They are icons of our youth - DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE BAD EXAMPLES, PERIOD.

FIRE THEM, BAN THEM, FINE THEM just like the common criminals they are!

Your post is a little over

Your post is a little over the top so I'm not sure how much of this is "tongue-in-cheek". But your first sentence made me think of the following:

U.S. Constitution: Tenth Amendment
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

In short, I fail to see where the Constitution grants Congress the power to weigh in on drug use in sports.

Agreed

I agree with Brian on both fronts. The federal government should have nothing to do with any sports steroid issue. Instead, what they might actually "work on" in this area is discontinuing the subsidizing of private businesses (sports stadiums, airtime on "public" airways, tax breaks, etc - federal/state/local all).

That said, all of the "baloo" posts thus far are so "over the top" that it's difficult to follow them. They seem to all have an underlying sentiment, but it's hard for that to come out among the ranting and CAPS YELLING and so on. Polish it up a bit man, you will get a better response (and I admit to being guilty of the same ranting from time to time, but really it helps to get your point across to calm down and articulate).
