One of those "blogging from here" entries: Crested Butte, CO

So this year's JPR, in Crested Butte, is my first "open space" conference, and I have to say, I really like the format. Anyone can propose a topic, and anyone can participate/talk. Lecturing the group is verboten, and it really does feel like it captures the "hallway conversations" aspect of a more formal conference.

There are a lot of great, brilliant people here, and along with the actual conference, the evening "lightning" sessions (which will make it to YouTube soon), the general hang out time, and the skiing, aren't bad either.

I will post some more specifics when I get home, and I will add my pictures to the Flickr javaposseroundup tag set when I get near more bandwidth.
